Our Commitment to Patient Care and Safety
Our CBPT offices are open and continue to serve our patients with several key measures in place for your safety and comfort.
Our primary concern is always the health and safety of our patients. CBPT has been actively monitoring and working with the medical community, including the Center for Disease Control (CDC), peer organizations, health insurances, and hospital networks to ensure we put in place the right safeguards and procedures related to the ongoing COVID outbreak. As the situation evolves, you can expect further updates on our response.

The following provides details on the steps we are taking to implement our COVID Protection Plan.
Initial Screening
- We are screening all patients according to guidance from the CDC and our local health department for respiratory symptoms when they call to schedule an appointment for physical therapy. Patients who exhibit the criteria will not be scheduled until they are past the two-week incubation period.
- We may schedule your appointment two weeks out to protect the health and safety of our other patients and staff if:
- o You or anyone in your household has been in close contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID.
o You are experiencing flu-like or upper respiratory symptoms, fever, cough or shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, or recent loss of taste or smell.
- o You or anyone in your household has been in close contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID.
In-Office Screening
- We will ensure that anyone who is displaying any respiratory or cold-like symptoms in our office is asked to hold on to treatment until they are healthy can be cleared by their physician.
Social Distancing
- We have adjusted our treatment model so there will be fewer patients in our office at any given time.
- We have rearranged our office so that patients will be spread out and there will be plenty of space between patients.
Protecting (PPE)
- We require all patients to wear a mask at all times when receiving treatment in our office even if after being fully vaccinated.
- Our staff will also be wearing a face mask and will have other PPE (personal protective equipment) available as needed (face shields, gloves…)
- We have installed large plexiglass protectors (sneeze guards) at each front desk for a protective barrier when you are scheduling your appointments and talking with the representative at our front desk.
Treating
- Each patient’s treatment session will be one on one with their Physical Therapist.
- Initial Evaluations will be limited to 45-60 minutes and follow-up treatment sessions will be limited to 30-50 minutes to decrease patients in the office at any given time.
Hand Washing
- Every patient entering our office will be asked to use hand sanitizer or wash their hands upon entry.
- Our clinical staff are diligent about handwashing and hand sanitizing.
Sanitizing
- We are diligent about sanitizing every surface or item after each use.
- In addition to our regular cleaning, we have hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes readily available for our patients.
- Air Purification Units have been installed in each office. These units are equipped with HEPA filters and UV light technology.

FAQ COVID
Q: What happens if I cancel an appointment at the last minute due to respiratory illness symptoms?
A: There will be no penalties for cancellations and missed appointments related to respiratory illnesses until further notice.
Q: How do you know if other patients have it? I don’t want to be exposed to the virus.
A: We are screening all patients according to guidance from the CDC and our local health department for respiratory symptoms when they call to schedule an appointment for therapy. Patients who exhibit the criteria will not be scheduled until they are past the two-week incubation period.
Q: What are you doing to make sure germs are taken care of at the clinic?
A: We always have patient safety in mind and disinfect all surfaces on a regular basis, regardless of the coronavirus outbreak. All our staff washes their hands with soap and water between each patient contact and uses hand sanitizer. We are taking all cleaning and hygiene precautions recommended by the CDC.
Q: If I have a cough can I come in for my appointment?
A: If you are experiencing any sickness, please wait to schedule an appointment until you are symptom-free. Please make sure you are fever-free, without the use of fever-reducing medication or other symptom-reducing medication, for 72 hours. If you have a fever or respiratory symptoms such as cough or shortness of breath and have had close contact with someone who’s suspected or confirmed to have COVID, please call your primary healthcare provider prior to attending an appointment.
