“I'm happy to report, I'm back to my full athletic self. I go to the gym regularly, ride a bike, swim, play pickleball, and use the elliptical. I feel great!”

I had an anterior right hip replacement last September. I had a much more difficult time with this one than my previous, posterior, left hip replacement in 2007. Mainly, it was painful to sit and that continued for many months afterward.
I started seeing David Hirchman, PT, MPT, CAFS, MFDc in the Irvine-Woodbridge office the week after my surgery. He was fantastic and I was dedicated to doing my exercises and healing as quickly and as well as I could. I saw him twice a week for at least three months. David was patient, friendly, and professional. He answered all my questions honestly and encouraged me when I was troubled by some continued pain that I thought would have been better by then.
Fast forward to spring of this year when I went hiking with a friend in Death Valley where the temperature was already in the 90's. I hadn't hiked in years, but off we went. I was thrilled that I was able to hike some steep craters and hills in the heat. One, in particular, was difficult because the trail was sand and gravel, making footing difficult. Throughout the trip, my hip never bothered me once. When I told another couple we met while hiking, the lady said she was astonished I was doing such a difficult hike so soon after surgery and remarked, "I should be proud!"
I'm happy to report, I'm back to my full athletic self. I go to the gym regularly, ride a bike, swim, play pickleball, and use the elliptical. I feel great! Thank you at CBPT for restoring my vitality, confidence, happiness, and physical ability!
